يقدم هذا البحث لمحة عن دور الخدمة الاجتماعية في مواجهة الأزمات والكوارث في لبنان، مع التركيز على تجربتين رئيسيتين بين عامي 1975 و1990 وخلال أزمة انفجار بيروت في أغسطس 2020. يتناول البحث تأثير الأزمات السياسية والاجتماعية على عمل الأخصائيين الاجتماعيين، ويسلط الضوء على التحديات والصعوبات التي واجهوها في الاستجابة للاحتياجات الطارئة للمجتمع.

يشمل البحث تجارب عملية ونتائج ميدانية تهدف إلى استنباط طرق عمل ملائمة للتعامل مع الكوارث والمآسي الإنسانية، ويعرض أمثلة من المبادرات المجتمعية التي ساهمت في تخفيف آثار الأزمات.

This research provides an overview of the role of social work in addressing crises and disasters in Lebanon, focusing on two major experiences: the period between 1975 and 1990 and the Beirut explosion crisis in August 2020. The study examines the impact of political and social crises on the work of social workers, highlighting the challenges and difficulties they faced in responding to the urgent needs of the community.

The research includes practical experiences and field findings aimed at identifying appropriate working methods for dealing with disasters and humanitarian tragedies. It also presents examples of community initiatives that contributed to mitigating the effects of crises.
